It's Christmas On Planet Zeon

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

It is 12/25/2009 12:14 AM PST here on planet Earth. It is also 12/25/2009 12:14 AM PST here on planet Zeon. It is Christmas everywhere. Sometimes I live on Zeon. Sometimes I live on Earth. I switch back and forth in an instant, so no one knows where I am. Only I know. :)

Living in pain is like living on another planet. You see the lights. You see the trimmings. You see the gifts. But in the pain, everything is different for the person in the pain.

In the pain, there are some things much more important than the pain. The people in your life are more important than the pain. Jesus is more important than the pain. Your life is more important than the pain. Most important of all, your blessings are more important than your pain. Count them. Count your blessings one by one. You see the great things God has done...even in your pain.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

Keep An Edge

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

Pain has a tendency to take away our edge. Our alertness level can begin to drop, especially if we are on some kind of pain med. Our thinking begins to slow down as we get buried under the daily burden of pain. We spend so much energy trying to get from one moment to the next, we lose sight of what is just in front of us.

For me, music is an answer. When the music reaches my ears I start to get some of my edge back. Your edge will likely be different. If you don't know what "reaches you" begin to take notice. For some people, reading a great novel or story, walking, writing, cooking, or any kind of healthy activity can benefit you. Every person is different.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

The Death Of Ego

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

Ego is a friend of mine. Unfortunately, ego is not the kind of friend anyone would want. The more I hurt, the more trouble I have keeping ego silent and away from me. Ego wants what ego wants when ego wants it. Ego wants attention. Ego wants other people to notice. Ego is evil. Ego is from Satan. Ego is not reserved for the rich and famous. Ego afflicts everyone, rich or poor, in pain or out of pain. Ego takes advantage...every advantage possible. Ego makes you hurt worse. Ego delights in making you hurt.

To deal with ego, I try to talk to God. I know God hears me on some level of knowing. Sometimes I "KNOW" God hears me and sometimes I sorta know He hears me. The more I talk to God the less power ego has over me.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

It's What We Don't See

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

We can handle our visible world. Look at all we have invented, developed, and changed over the centuries. Of course, we have destroyed and devastated our visible world too. Our visible world is not so much our problem. Our problem nearly always rests in our invisible world. Pain impacts our invisible world of faith, hope, and love. Pain tries to destroy the goodness of the invisible. Pain tries to take us away from God who lives in the invisible. Although the satanic author of pain tries to destroy, we have a loving God whose power brings us healing and wholeness. Our true power over our pain rests in the invisible within us.

Touch the invisible power of God within you. Grasp His power as much as you can. Even the tiniest of inklings of God's power is greater than any pain. Our victory is in what we do not see.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

Pain As Interference

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

Pain interferes. Pain interferes with every thought and every feeling. We must treat our pain as such. We must treat our pain as the interference pain is. By treating our pain as interference we are then able to live more fully in the the real stuff of God's presence in us. We may not be able to disregard our pain but we can make pain the noise, then we can move the noise into the background while we focus on God's love. Of course, this is easy to say and hard to do. However, God is faithful. He never disappoints.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

Absorbing The Goodness

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

You will have moments of goodness. You may never have hours, or half-hours, but you will have moments between the twinges of pain when you can have the goodness. The goodness can also be spelled the "godness" because that is what the "goodness" is. The goodness is the essence of God living and alive within you. The goodness is the highest form of gratitude and thanksgiving. When you have the goodness, let the goodness absorb into you, even if the goodness is only for a brief time.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

Dead Ends And Failed Medical Attempts

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

I saw a new pain doctor today. I went in skeptical. Appointment lasted twenty minutes instead of the one hour stated on the doctor's web site. Doctor sold me $47 of capsules (90) of fish oil. I told the doctor I had trouble taking fish oil in the past and doctor says these are "stearated" (giving me assurance my money would be well spent). Took one capsule. Now have massive heartburn and stomach pain like I did before. I should have known better.

However, we all have to try to do something with the pain and about the pain. I have had many dead ends and failed medical attempts. Part of the game. The buyer needs to beware but stay hopeful. Sounds like an oxymoron to me.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

One Little You

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

Pain holds me back. Pain holds you back if you suffer. However, we should not let pain be an excuse. Compared to all the people now living on earth, you and I are nothing more than specks. However, we are more than specks. One little you or one little me can start a tiny spark that will light up the world. Even in pain, you can reach out and touch the heart and soul of another. No one will ever know but the person you touch and God. Your little spark can start a tiny fire, a tiny fire can start a larger fire, and so what you start can end up changing the world in incredibly good ways for Christ.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

New Pain Doctor Tomorrow

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

Tomorrow I see a new pain doctor. He does not use narcotics so I am a little hopeful. No matter what, we must try to maximize all God gives us, even when we are walled in and imprisoned.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

Just A Moment

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

Pain seems forever. When the pain gets bad the pain seems never to end. However, in the pain there is just a moment. There is just a moment when there is no pain. The moment might be when you hear a song, see a bird, listen to someone talk, just after a restful nap, or when you pray.

Find your moments. Try to remember them. Try to go back to them. Always look up because He is listening and pouring out His love upon you.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

Why Doesn't God Stop The Pain?

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

Sometimes I have an answer, sometimes I don't. Actually, I only have answers I sort of make up. We all want the pain to stop. Some people curse God in their pain because they blame God for the hurt. Other people like me try to bless God in the pain because we blame Satan for the hurt. I know God has some kind of reason or rationale for not stopping my pain. Most of my answers are prefaced with "perhaps" because I will never really know "for sure" until I am in heaven.

What I do know is that in my life, (goofy as it sounds) the pain has kept me going in God's direction. With no pain, no adversity, no suffering, no disability, etc., I would have gone in my direction singing "My Way" all the while. I also know for a certainty, I would never get into heaven singing Sinatra's "My Way" because "My Way" is not Christ's way. I also know God will, absolutely positively, stop my pain an instant before I see Him face to face.

I also know I am wrong to ask "Why Doesn't God Stop The Pain?" because God is more interested in what I do with the pain. God likely wants me to think of the pain as a gift to be used to glorify Him. (You got to be crazy to think this way but...I'm nuts.)

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.

One More Inch

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

Life and football are alike. Football is a game of inches. So is life in pain. When I can't go any further, I can at least go one inch.

When you can't go forward any more, you can read one page, write one sentence, send one email, give someone one thank you, or say one prayer. The power of going just one more inch is amazing. The power of going just one more inch proves to you progress is possible even when progress looks impossible.

God Is Hugging Me When I Hurt

Pastor's Web Site Find The Power

When I hurt God hugs me. No, I don't always know about His hugs or even sense them. However, I sense His touch often enough I know He is with me every moment. Much of the time, pain rips out my sense of God's presence.

Pain is Satan's ultimate weapon to make us think God does not exist. When you hurt, remember God is near and present in your pain. If you keep looking for Him, you will find Him. If you keep looking for Him, He will find you.

May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord place His healing hands upon you to give you comfort and peace.
